Been looking hard at picking up  my first L series lens and reading lots of forums and reviews. My kit lens, the Canon 28-135 mm F/3.5-5.6, is decent but it is what it is, a kit lens for a upper/mid-level dSLR (Canon 60D). Since I have the crop sensor, all focal lengths are multiplied by 1.6, changing the intended range considerbily. The front runner is a Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, although I like the idea of a little more reach in the 24-105 F/4L.  I guess the only way to solve this diliema is to go with the faster lens but also pick up a 70-200 F/2.8L.
